  • This is a flexible role with the option to join us on a contract or employee basis. Whether you’re after part-time hours or looking to grow into something more, we can shape the position around the right person.

    You’ll take ownership of client work, manage your own workflow, and be part of a small, supportive team doing meaningful work.


    Qualifications

    • A degree in accounting (or higher)

    • Experience in public practice preferable

    • Strong experience with Xero and working across multiple client files

    • Bonus if you’ve worked in a small firm or are used to managing your own workflow


    What You’ll Be Doing

    You’ve already got the foundations covered such as tax returns, financials, BAS prep and Xero is second nature. You’re ready to take the lead on client work and become a trusted part of their business journey.

    In this role, you’ll:

    • Manage a portfolio of small business clients

    • Prepare and lodge tax returns (individual, company, trust, partnership)

    • Handle BAS, IAS, payroll, STP and super compliance

    • Oversee bookkeeping and reconciliations across multiple files

    • Review files, resolve queries, and keep notes up to date

    • Provide year-round support with quick calls and check-ins as needed

    • Build genuine client relationships built on trust and proactive care


    Alongside day-to-day work, you’ll be part of key client moments throughout the year, including:

    • Tax results and planning for the year ahead

    • Cashflow forecasting and business strategy discussions

    • Periodic reviews and tailored advice to support business growth

    • Tax planning that delivers real savings through practical strategies

    • Special projects with businesses around Australia, both onsite and remote

    You’ll work closely with the Partner to deliver quality outcomes, provide proactive support, and ensure every client feels confident and cared for.

    You’re confident in your technical skills and care about doing right by your clients. You’re proactive, organised, and comfortable working both independently and collaboratively.

    You value good communication, enjoy using tech to work smarter, and take pride in delivering work that makes a real difference to small business owners.
