This is a flexible role with the option to join us on a contract or employee basis. Whether you're looking for part-time hours or ready to grow into something more, we’re open to shaping the position around the right person.
You’ll take ownership of client work, manage your own workflow, and be part of a small, supportive team doing meaningful work.
Qualifications
A degree in accounting (or higher)
Experience in public practice preferable
Strong experience with Xero and working across multiple client files
Bonus if you’ve worked in a small firm or are used to managing your own workflow
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ve already got the foundations covered such as tax returns, financials, BAS prep and Xero is second nature. You’re ready to take the lead on client work and become a trusted part of their business journey.
In this role, you’ll:
Manage a portfolio of small business clients
Prepare and lodge tax returns (individual, company, trust, partnership)
Handle BAS, IAS, payroll, STP and super compliance
Oversee bookkeeping and reconciliations across multiple files
Review files, resolve queries, and keep notes up to date
Provide year-round support with quick calls and check-ins as needed
Build genuine client relationships built on trust and proactive care
You’ll work closely with the Partner and be involved in key client meetings throughout the year, including:
Tax results and planning for the year ahead
Cashflow forecasting and business strategy sessions
Periodic reviews and tailored support to help clients grow
Tax planning that saves clients thousands through practical advice
Special projects, both onsite and remote, with businesses around Australia
